MIDI to Maxi
Today we talked about the importance of recording and what running a studio session entails. Some important points were:
- Recording is fun
- Music sounds better when recorded well
- More creativity
- More originality
Some of the things we will look at are:
- Mic Techniques (XY, OTFR and Blumlein)
- Mic Types
- Mic Placement
- Signal Flow
- Sound selection (musical aesthetic)
Each of you have been asked to choose minimum two songs up to 3 and decide what parts you would like to record.
For next week:
- Pic 3 songs and decide on at least 3 instruments for each to replace the MIDI parts.
- If you do not already have songs create 3 loops 4-8 bars for next week.
- Talk about them on your blog with a snippet and say which of the 3 instruments you will replace with a screenshot showing them in your project.
